A quarterly of speculative & literary writing

Established in 2026, The Still Point is an independent, non-commercial quarterly journal published by The Still Point Press in London, available in print and online. We seek attentive prose and poetry that engages with the present moment without contributing to the din. Genre boundaries do not concern us. What matters to us is attention to detail, skillful execution, and work that leaves a lasting impression. Alongside prose and poetry, every issue is visually shaped by original art. We collaborate with visual artists from around the world to create custom illustrations for our selected stories, treating design and narrative as a single, cohesive space.

The name

The name is borrowed from T. S. Eliot: ‘at the still point of the turning world’, the place in Burnt Norton where movement and stillness cease to be opposites.

How we read

Every manuscript is read blind by our editorial team. While our acceptance rate is around 3%, this reflects our commitment to giving each accepted piece the focus, care, and editorial space it deserves. We actively encourage both emerging and established voices to submit.

For each issue, we also take time to highlight specific pieces and contributors with dedicated editorial features, ensuring the work reaches as broad an audience as possible.
